Gaussia Leather

Gaussia Leather is located at No. 246 in Madina Nagar. It is on the 3rd Cross, which is a bit of a tight squeeze if you are trying to drive a big van through. We are right near the Star Tele Link office. The smell of leather is the first thing you notice when you walk inside. It is a strong, earthy scent that stays on your clothes all day. We have rolls of hides stacked up in all different colors and finishes. There are sewing machines that click-clack all day long while the guys work. It is a small space, so we have to stay organized, though it does not always look that way to an outsider. There are scraps of leather on the floor and spools of thick thread everywhere. We spend our time cutting and stitching by hand. It is mostly manual work, so our hands are always a bit rough. The neighbors know us well, and we often chat at the door when we take a break. The traffic on Madina Nagar Road can be a real nightmare, but once you are inside the shop, it is just about the work. We do not have a big marketing team or a shiny store window. It is just a workshop where we make things out of leather. Some days are slow and we just tidy up, but usually, we are rushing to finish an order for someone.
