Garabar Primary School

We run Garabar Primary School out of a building in Munivenkatappa Layout. It’s located at No.35, 244/1 on the Horamavu Main Road in Kalkere. If you know the area, it's near where the road starts to get a bit narrow. We’ve been here for several years now. It’s a primary school, so we mostly see kids from the age of five up to ten or eleven. The building isn't very big, but it fits our needs. We have a few classrooms and a small office where we keep all the records. Most of the families who send their children here live within walking distance in the layout. We see the same faces every day, which is nice. It feels like a small community. The morning bell goes off at nine, and then it’s just the sound of kids reading out loud for a few hours. We don't have any big buses, so most parents just drop their kids on their scooters. The layout is usually quiet except for the school hours. We try to keep things organized, though sometimes it gets a bit chaotic when it rains and everyone tries to crowd into the hallway. We have a couple of trees in the front that give some shade. It’s just a normal, local primary school helping the kids in Kalkere get their basic education. We don't have anything fancy, just the basics like chalk and boards.
