Ganesh Paying Guest

Ganesh Paying Guest is located on the second floor of the Red Cross Society building on Lalbagh Road. It’s 1 Lalbagh Road, right near the old Poornima Theatre. Being on the second floor is nice because we’re a little bit removed from the street noise, though you can still hear the city hum. We’ve been running this paying guest accommodation for several years now. It’s a simple setup with rooms for people who need a place to stay while they work or study in the city. Since we’re so close to the theatre and the Red Cross, everyone knows the building well. We spend a lot of our time making sure the common areas are tidy and that the water heaters are working. It’s a lot of small chores that add up. We don't have a big fancy lobby or anything like that. You just walk up the stairs and you’re there. The people who stay with us are usually looking for something affordable and central. Lalbagh is just a short walk away, which is great for a morning stroll. We try to keep things quiet at night so everyone can sleep. Sometimes we cook a big meal for everyone, but mostly people do their own thing. It’s a friendly environment without being too crowded. We just want people to feel like they have a decent place to call home for a while. It's nothing extraordinary but it works for what is needed in this part of town.
