Gakunda Primary School

Gakunda Primary School is located at No.6 on the 1st Right in Annasandrapalya. It’s a quiet little pocket of Bangalore, away from the main highway. The school is small, which is how we like it because it means we know every student who walks through the door. The building is just a simple two-story structure. Downstairs we have the younger classes and the office, and the older kids are upstairs. We don't have a big field for sports, but the kids play in the lane or in the small open space we have inside the compound. Every morning starts with a small prayer and then it’s straight to the books. The neighborhood is mostly families who have lived here for a long time, so we have a good relationship with our neighbors. Sometimes their cricket balls end up in our yard and vice versa. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. People just know us because we’ve been here at this address for years. The classrooms are a bit cramped when we have a full house, but the kids don't seem to mind much. We focus on teaching them the basics and making sure they’re ready for high school when the time comes. It’s a humble place, but we take pride in keeping the doors open and the lights on for the kids.
