G K Tent House

The shop for G K Tent House is located in Ulsoor on G Street, right in the Jogupalya area at number 53. It is a busy little street with a lot of people moving around all day. We spend a lot of time loading and unloading heavy poles and folded up tents. It’s physically demanding work, especially when the sun is beating down on us in the afternoon. Most of our gear is stacked up against the walls, from chairs to big rolls of fabric for the pandals. When there is a local festival or a wedding nearby, things get really frantic around here. We have to make sure everything is tied down properly so nothing falls over if the wind picks up. Jogupalya is a tight-knit place, and we’ve seen plenty of events happen on these streets over the years. Sometimes we are working late into the night to get a stage ready for the next morning. The office part is just a small corner with a ledger book where we write down the bookings. We don’t really use computers for that. It’s mostly about knowing where every piece of equipment is and making sure it gets back in one piece after the event is over. The guys who work here are used to the heavy lifting. We just get on with it, moving things from G Street to wherever they need to go in the city. It is a lot of hard work.
