G K Iron & Steel Co Ltd is tucked away in the Aurelia Apartment, over in Chanukya Layout within Richmond Town. It is an interesting spot for an iron and steel company, being in a residential-style layout in Bangalore. We have been here for a while, managing the trade from this little corner of the city. There isn't a huge warehouse attached to this specific office, so it is mostly where the deals happen and the books are kept. We spend a lot of our time talking to suppliers and customers. The traffic in Richmond Town can be a nightmare, so we have learned to plan our days around it. It is a small setup. We don't have a receptionist or a lobby with fancy chairs. You just walk in and we are right there at our desks. There is usually a pile of invoices and some samples of rebar or sheets lying around. We have known a lot of our customers for years. It is a business built on long-term relationships rather than big advertisements. We don't pretend to be anything we aren't. We just know steel and we know how to get it from point A to point B. It is a busy life, but we like the area. There are good places to get lunch nearby, and that is a plus. We just keep working away and hope the rain stays off when we have deliveries.
