Our place is G F 41, and we are situated on Sayajigunj Main Road in Gandhi Nagar. The name of the business is actually just our shop number, which makes it easy for people to remember where we are. We are on the ground floor, so there are no stairs to climb, which is nice for everyone. The main road is very busy, and there is always something happening right outside our door. We spend most of our time organizing the items on the shelves or talking to the people who wander in. It’s a small unit, so we have to be careful about how much stock we bring in at once. If we get too much, there is nowhere to stand. We have a small fan that runs all day to keep the air moving. It’s a simple setup with a tiled floor and some basic lighting. Every evening, we sweep the floor and lock up the shutters. We’ve become friends with the other shopkeepers along this stretch of Gandhi Nagar. We often share tea from the stall just a few doors down. G F 41 isn't a fancy store, but it’s a reliable one. We open up at the same time every morning and stay until the sun goes down. It is a straightforward life, and we are happy to be part of the local community here on Sayajigunj Main Road.
