We are located at 6 BTM Layout 2nd Stage. It’s a decent sized space for Furniture City, though it always feels a bit crowded because we have so many pieces sitting around. Moving heavy tables and sofas is basically our daily workout. The floor gets a bit dusty from all the wood and fabric, so we are always sweeping up something. We aren't really about the fancy showroom vibe you see in big malls. This is more of a practical place where you can actually see the items up close and touch the materials. BTM Layout is a busy residential area, so we get a lot of people just walking in while they are out running errands. The lighting isn't perfect, but it shows the furniture for what it actually is. Sometimes we are busy unloading a truck at the back, which makes a bit of a mess for an hour or two. We just try to keep things simple. If someone wants to know the price or what something is made of, we just tell them plainly. There’s no big sales pitch here. Most of us have been working with furniture for years, so we know our way around a joint or a finish. It’s a lot of manual work, lifting and shifting things to make room for new stock that comes in every week or so. Usually, the shop stays open until the sun goes down and the streetlights come on.
