Footprints

We are located at 1222 300 Hannumanthappa here in Bangalore. It is a bit of a trek to get through the city traffic some mornings, but once we’re inside the Footprints office, things settle down. The building is older and has its quirks, like the elevator that sometimes has a mind of its own. We spend most of our time at our desks, working through whatever comes our way. The team is small, just a few of us who have known each other for years. We don’t really do the whole corporate culture thing with long meetings or fancy presentations. Usually, we just shout across the room if we need something. There is a small window that looks out over the street, and we spend more time than we should watching the delivery bikes go past. Bangalore weather is usually nice, so we keep the windows open when it isn’t too dusty outside. Our workspace is cluttered with notes, half-empty coffee mugs, and various bits of paper that we swear we’ll file away someday. It is a practical kind of place. We show up, we do the tasks that need doing, and we go home. There isn’t much more to it than that. We’ve grown used to the sounds of the neighborhood and the specific way the light hits the floor in the afternoon. It feels like home after all this time. We often joke about the mismatched chairs in the breakroom, but they're comfortable enough for a quick sit-down.
