Flower By Design

We are located back in the lanes of Koramangala, right behind the police station. It is a bit of a tucked-away spot at 290 P.M.C, but once you find the station, we are just right there. Most of our day is spent surrounded by stems and leaves and buckets of water. It is a messy job, really, with thorns and wet floors being part of the daily routine. We start early when the trucks arrive with the fresh stuff. There is a lot of trimming and sorting to do before we even open the doors. The shop isn't huge, so we have to be careful where we stack the crates. It smells like wet earth and greenery in here most of the time. We don't have a big corporate team, just a few of us who know how to handle the shears without cutting ourselves too often. People stop in because they saw us while walking to the station or they live in the apartments nearby. We spend a lot of time on our feet, moving pots around and making sure the vases are full. Sometimes the Bangalore traffic makes the deliveries late, which is always a headache. We just try to keep the flowers fresh and the shop tidy. It's a quiet kind of work, mostly. We just keep our heads down and get the arrangements done as they come in. There is always a lot of sweeping to do before we lock up the gate for the night.
