Essen Impex

Essen Impex is located at 309 Race Course Road. It’s a pretty good spot because there’s always something happening nearby, but our office stays fairly quiet. We do a lot of importing and exporting, which means there is a lot of paperwork. You’ll usually see stacks of documents on everyone’s desk. We aren't very organized in a way that looks pretty, but we know exactly where everything is. The office is one large room with a few partitions that don't really do much to block out the noise. We share a lot of coffee and stories while we wait for calls from different time zones. Since we deal with international stuff, someone is often here very early or staying quite late. The furniture is practical and a bit worn out, but it's comfortable enough for a long day. We don't have any fancy art on the walls, just some calendars and maybe a map or two to help us keep track of things. It’s a very grounded atmosphere. We don't talk in corporate jargon or have big meetings about goals. We just look at what needs to be shipped or received today and we get to it. It’s a simple way to run a business, and it seems to work just fine for us and the people we work with. The elevator is slow, so we mostly take the stairs.
