Esbee Iron Steel

You can find us over on Silver Jubilee Park Road. It is a busy place, being so close to the New Bomboo Bazar. The smell of wood and metal is always in the air around here. Having the petrol bunk a short walk away is handy for us. We handle a lot of iron and steel, mostly rods and sheets. The clanging sound when the trucks are being unloaded is really loud. The floor stays covered in metal scrap no matter how much we sweep. It is a losing battle. My back is usually aching by the time five o'clock rolls around. That is just how the job goes. We have been at number 88 for a long time. The whole area has changed but we are still here doing the same things. This is not a clean job. You get dirty and the air feels like it is full of grit. We know most of the other shop owners nearby. We spend time talking about the weather or prices while waiting for deliveries. Sometimes a truck gets stuck in the narrow lane and everyone has to start shouting to get it moved. It is just how things work in this part of town. We keep the gates open and wait for whoever needs metal to show up. Esbee Iron Steel has been on this street for years and we do not plan on changing anything. It is just us and the iron every day.
