Employment Service Bureau

At Employment Service Bureau, our office in Jayanagar 701 is usually full of people and bits of paper. It’s a simple setup. We have a few old desks and some chairs that don’t quite match for people to sit on while they fill out their forms. Usually, there’s a stack of resumes on the corner of my desk that never seems to get any smaller no matter how much work I do. People come in looking for all sorts of jobs, and we just try to sort through who might fit where. It’s a lot of talking on the phone and writing things down in ledgers. Jayanagar is a nice area, but our building is one of the plainer ones on the block. We don’t have fancy signs or anything. Just the name on the door so people know they’ve found the right place. Sometimes the water cooler leaks a bit, so there’s always a towel on the floor nearby. It’s just a regular office where we spend the day looking at lists and calling back businesses. The afternoon sun hits the front window pretty hard, so we keep the blinds down most of the time. It’s a bit of a maze with all the filing cabinets we’ve squeezed in over the years. We just keep track of names and numbers and try to keep everyone's files in some kind of order while we work.
