We’ve been running Emem Food Processing Pvt Ltd over at Cunningham Road 304 for a while now. Most days it’s just us trying to keep up with the machines and getting the packing right. It’s not fancy work, but it keeps us busy. People often ask what we do exactly, and mostly it’s just handling the bulk stuff that goes out to shops later. We started small and stayed that way, which works for us because we know everyone in the building. Sometimes the office gets a bit dusty when the dry goods move through, but that is part of the job. We keep a small crew here. Everyone knows their spot on the floor. It can get loud when everything is running at once, so we usually have to shout over the grinders. If you walk past 304, you’ll probably hear the hum of the motors. We don’t have much of a front desk or anything like that since we’re mostly focused on the back-end processing. It’s a bit cramped with all the bags stacked up, but we manage to fit it all in. We’ve had the same delivery drivers coming by for years. They know exactly where to park their trucks even though the street is narrow. We just try to get the orders filled and move on to the next day. It’s honest work, even if it gets a bit messy sometimes.
