Operating out of Begur Road, East India Transport Agency is basically what it says on the sign. We move things from one place to another. Our office is right where all the trucks come and go, so it gets pretty dusty and loud around here. We’ve got drivers coming in at all hours of the night and leaving before the sun even comes up. It’s a lot of logbooks, phone calls, and making sure the engines are running okay. We don’t have a fancy website or a sales team. We just answer the phone and tell people if we have a truck available or not. Begur Road is always busy, which suits us just fine. Sometimes things get delayed because of the traffic or a flat tire, but that’s just the nature of transport. We try to keep the paperwork straight, though it piles up on the desks sometimes. The tea stall nearby is where we spend half our time anyway. It’s a tough business, and the margins aren’t great, but we’ve been doing it long enough to know the routes. We don’t use big words to describe what we do. We just haul stuff. If a truck breaks down, we fix it. If a load needs to go, we find a way. That's the daily grind here.
