Dinakar Rice Stores

You can find us at 2502 in the 3Rd Block, over on 8Th F Main Road. Jayanagar East is a nice area, though parking can be a real headache near our shop. Dinakar Rice Stores is basically rows of heavy bags and the smell of grain. I have been working here a long time, and my back definitely feels the weight of the rice sacks some days. We don't have fancy shopping carts or anything like that. People just tell us what they need, and we weigh it out for them. The wooden counters have been here since the beginning and they are getting pretty smooth from use. We keep a small stool in the corner for when the shop is empty and we can take a break. It gets quite dusty because of the types of rice we carry. We try to keep the front tidy, but with bags moving in and out, there is always a bit of a mess. The regulars know to come in the morning before the sun gets too high and the street gets packed. We don't do any big advertising. People just know we are here at this address. Sometimes the scale needs a little adjustment to stay accurate. It’s simple work, really. Just buying, selling, and making sure the bags don't get damp. It’s what we do every day of the week, except for Sundays when we finally close up.
