Design Frolic

You can find us at No. 33/1 Doddakonnalli, which is just off Sarjapur Road. It’s a spot that’s easy to miss if you are driving too fast. Design Frolic started because we wanted a place to work on projects without all the noise of a big corporate office. The building is pretty standard for this part of town. We spend a lot of time sitting around the main table sketching things out or looking at screens. Sarjapur Road has changed a lot lately with all the new shops and apartments going up around us. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit and wait for the generator to kick in. It’s not a fancy studio with high ceilings or expensive art on the walls. We have some old chairs and a lot of coffee mugs. People usually drop by to talk about a project they have in mind. We don't do much advertising; most of our work comes from folks who live or work nearby and heard about us. It gets a bit dusty with the construction nearby, so we are always wiping down the desks. It’s just a normal workplace where we try to get the designs right. We stay here until the work is done, sometimes late when the traffic outside finally dies down. It’s a simple setup and it works for what we do. We like being in this neighborhood despite the commute every morning.
