Delstar Carpets

Delstar Carpets is located at 416 Madivala. If you know the area, you know it gets pretty crowded around here. Our shop is filled with rolls of different materials and we spend a lot of time moving things around to show people what is available. It is heavy work and there is usually a bit of dust in the air, which comes with the territory when you deal with carpets and rugs all day. We have been in Madivala for a long time. The shop isn't very large so we have to stack things quite high. Sometimes it’s a bit of a struggle to pull out a specific piece from the bottom of a pile but we manage. We aren't the type to have a big showroom with bright lights and fancy displays. It is more of a warehouse feel where things are practical and straightforward. People come in looking for something for their living room or maybe an office, and we just show them what we have in stock. The traffic on the road outside can be a nightmare in the evenings, but during the day it is okay. We usually have the doors open to get some air in. It is just a regular local business. We deal with suppliers, check the quality of the weaves, and talk to whoever walks through the door. It’s a lot of physical labor, carrying rugs and loading them up, but it keeps us busy and the day goes by fast.
