Dayananda Furniture Gallery

We have been running Dayananda Furniture Gallery at 4 Hongasandra for a good while now. The shop is usually full of wood dust and the smell of polish which gets on your clothes by the end of the day. It is not a huge place but we keep enough sofas and tables crammed in so people can actually see what they are buying. Some days it is quiet and we just sit around fixing the legs on old chairs or rearranging the beds to make more room. The traffic outside in Hongasandra can get pretty loud in the evenings but you get used to it after a few weeks of working here. We don't have any fancy air conditioning or bright flashing lights outside the door. It is just a regular furniture shop where we try to keep things honest and simple. Most of the people who come in are locals from around the neighborhood looking for a sturdy cupboard or maybe a desk for their kids to study on. Sometimes the delivery truck gets stuck in the narrow lane out front which causes a bit of a headache for everyone. We spend a lot of time just talking to neighbors who stop by to say hello while we are unloading new stock. It is a lot of heavy lifting and moving things around but that is just how the work goes here. We keep the doors open even when it is raining.
