Being located at 80/D Yeshwantpur on the Pune Nashik Highway means we see a lot of the world passing by in the form of big lorries. D R S Logistic Pvt Ltd is basically a hub for things going from one place to another. The office is right there near the road, so we get all the fumes and the noise of the traffic heading out of the city. It’s a very practical place. We have a lot of clipboards, logbooks, and people shouting over the sound of engines. It’s not a place for a quiet conversation. Most of our day is spent tracking where the trucks are and making sure the drivers have what they need before they head back out on the highway. The furniture is old and the tea we drink is usually too sweet, but it gets us through the long shifts. Sometimes a driver will come in with a story about a breakdown or a block on the road, and we have to figure out a new plan on the fly. It is a lot of problem-solving. We don’t have a mission statement on the wall or anything like that. We just have a map and a phone that doesn't stop ringing. It’s the kind of business that keeps the country moving, even if most people don't think about it when they see us on the highway.
