Our place is A-38 on S R S Road in Yeshwantpur, right in the 1st stage. If you know Yeshwantpur, you know it’s always moving. Crescent Roadways Pvt Ltd fits right in because that’s what we do—move things. The office is usually a bit of a mess with logbooks and delivery slips everywhere. There’s always someone coming in to ask about a shipment or a driver checking his route. It’s loud, it’s dusty, and there’s always a faint smell of diesel in the air from the trucks nearby. We’ve been operating out of this spot for years. We don't bother with a lot of the corporate polish you see in the bigger firms. We just focus on getting the trucks where they need to go on time. The S R S Road area is quite busy, so getting in and out can be a bit of a challenge in the afternoons. I spend a lot of time on the phone, sometimes arguing with people and sometimes just making sure everyone is okay on the road. It’s a tough business and it’s not always pretty. We have some old desks and a water cooler that makes a funny noise. But it’s home for us during the day. We’ve seen the 1st stage grow and change, with new shops opening up and old ones closing down, but we’re still here at A-38 doing what we know best. It’s hard work, but we’re used to it by now and don't really mind the chaos.
