City Selection

City Selection is located on Brigade Road, inside the 7 Bungalows building at units G6 and G7. We mainly sell readymade garments for men and children. Being on Brigade Road means there is always a lot of foot traffic, especially in the evenings when people are out for a walk. The shop is not very large, so we have to use every bit of space we have. We stack the shirts and jeans high on the shelves, and I spend a lot of my time refolding them after customers have had a look through the sizes. We have two small partitions in the back that serve as changing rooms. The mirrors are a bit old but they do the trick for most people. I run the shop with my sister, and she is the one who goes to the wholesale markets to pick out the new stock every month. We don't really follow the big fashion trends, we just try to carry clothes that are comfortable and look decent enough for daily wear. The lighting in the shop is a bit bright, but it helps people see the colors of the fabric clearly. We have a small radio that plays local music throughout the day. It is a lot of standing around and talking to people, which can be tiring, but we have made a lot of friends among the regular shoppers. It is just us in these two units, running a straightforward clothing business.
