Jai Shree Perforators

If you have ever been to City Market, you know how packed and loud it gets with all the vendors and carts moving through the narrow lanes. Jai Shree Perforators is located at No. 7 B on Godown Street, which is right in the thick of things. Finding us can be a bit tricky for people who aren't used to the area, so we always tell them we are near the Chandra Vihar Hotel. In fact, being near the Chandra Vihar Hotel is the easiest way to give anyone directions. The shop is small and usually filled with the sound of the perforation machines punching through metal or paper. It’s a sharp, repetitive noise that echoes off the walls. Because space is so tight in City Market, we have boxes stacked almost to the ceiling, and you have to be careful how you move around. The air is always thick with the smell of the market—spices, exhaust, and street food from the vendors nearby. We don't have much of a storefront, just the workspace where the machines are bolted to the floor. Most of our day is spent handling orders that come in from the surrounding businesses. It’s a busy, cramped, and noisy place to work, but that is just the nature of Godown Street. We’ve become a part of the daily chaos here, and we just keep the machines running and the paperwork moving. It is a very basic operation right in the heart of the city’s trade.
