Citi Fone

Citi Fone is located over in Koramangala at the Maruti Industrial Park, unit A/4. It is an industrial area, so there are always trucks moving around and a lot of noise from the nearby workshops. I decided to set up here because there are so many workers who need their phones fixed during their breaks. The shop is small and can get quite hot in the summer months despite the small fan I have pointed at my chair. I spend most of my time hunched over a workbench with a soldering iron. People bring in all sorts of gadgets, not just phones. Sometimes it’s a broken charger or a radio that stopped working. I don't have a big sign out front, just a small one that's a bit faded from the sun. The walk from the main road to the park takes about ten minutes, so I usually carry my bag and some water. Most of my customers are regulars who work in the surrounding units. We talk about the weather or the traffic while I check their devices. I’ve lived in this city my whole life and seen it grow. This industrial park has a lot of history. My day ends when the factories start letting out their shifts. It’s a steady routine. I don't think about much else besides getting the work done and heading home to my family after the shutter is finally pulled down for the night.
