Chaya Furnitures

We are Chaya Furnitures, located at 109 Peenya Industrial Area, Lalbaug. We are quite near the Ganesha Temple, which is where we usually tell people to go if they get lost. Being in the industrial area means it is always noisy with the sound of machines and trucks. Our shop is a mix of a workshop and a storage area. We make different kinds of furniture like wooden cupboards, tables, and benches. It is very dusty inside because of all the wood we cut and sand every day. We don't have a fancy showroom with air conditioning. It is just a hot, busy space where we work with our hands. We use local wood and try to make things that will last a long time. Sometimes we have a lot of orders and we have to stay late into the evening to finish them. The smell of varnish is always in the air. We are just a small group of workers who have been doing this for years. We don't have any corporate training or anything like that. We just learned by doing the work. People come to us because they want something sturdy that doesn't cost too much. We don't do any big advertising. We just rely on the quality of the things we build right here in Peenya.
