We are located at 94 St. Johns Road. This is where Chandroo Paying Guest Lancing operates. It’s an old building but we keep it as clean as we can. There are a few rooms here for people who need a place to stay while they work or study. St. Johns Road is a good area because everything is close by. We have a routine for the meals and the cleaning. It’s not like a hotel; it’s more like a shared house. Sometimes the plumbing gives us trouble, but we get it fixed. We have people from all over living here. The common area is where everyone ends up talking in the evening. We don’t have any fancy rules, just the usual stuff about noise and timing. It gets pretty loud outside during the day. We spend a lot of time making sure the kitchen is running okay. The rooms are simple with just the basics. We’ve been doing this for years. Most of the guests stay for a long time. It’s a bit cramped when the house is full, but we make it work. We are just a local PG place. We don’t do much advertising; people just find us. St. Johns Road has a lot of shops so it's convenient for everyone. We try to keep the atmosphere calm inside despite the city noise. We usually do a walk-through of the halls before turning off the main lights late at night.
