Chandra Prakash Provision Store

Our store is in Raghvenanhalli, just about a kilometer away from the Kengeri Metro station. It’s a quiet enough spot, though things have picked up since the metro started running nearby a few years ago. We’ve been selling groceries and household stuff for a long time. The shelves are packed with bags of rice, dals, and all the usual things people need for their daily kitchens. We try to keep everything in its place, but it gets a bit jumbled when we get a big shipment of soap or snacks on a Tuesday. The front of the store has some vegetable crates if we managed to get fresh stock that morning from the market. We know most of the families who live in the houses and small apartments around here. They come in for milk in the morning and bread or eggs in the evening. There's an old wooden counter where we do all the weighing and billing by hand. We use an old paper ledger for some of our regular customers who pay at the end of the month. It's not a fancy supermarket; it's just a provision store where you can find what you need without walking too far. The door stays open all day to let the air in. Sometimes a stray dog will sit outside under the shade of our small awning. We aren't trying to be anything big. We just want to make sure the neighbors have their salt and sugar when they run out.
