Chandan Furnitures

Chandan Furnitures is at 9 Mathikere, inside the Tilsi Complex. We are very close to the Chowdeshwari Bus Stand, which is a big landmark around here. Our shop is full of different pieces of wood and furniture we’ve been working on. It’s not a giant showroom with bright lights and salesmen following you around. It’s more of a workshop where you can see things being made. We’ve been in the Tilsi Complex for quite a while now. Most people find us because they live in Mathikere or they pass by the bus stand every day. We make beds, tables, and cupboards that are meant to last. We don’t use a lot of fancy machinery; most of it is done by hand with regular tools. It gets pretty dusty in the shop with all the sawing and sanding going on. We don't have a big catalog of items. Often people just tell us what they need and we see if we can build it. The neighborhood is always busy and the bus stand brings in a lot of foot traffic. We just focus on the wood and the joinery. It’s hard work but it’s what we know how to do. We don't spend money on advertising or big posters. We just stay here and work on whatever project is next. It's a simple shop in a good part of town.
