Our place is located at 17/21 Brigade Road, right near the Carmelaram Post on Sarjapura Road. If you know the area, you know it’s changed a lot over the years with all the new buildings coming up. We deal with steel and castings, which is pretty gritty work. The shop floor is usually noisy and smells like metal. It’s not the kind of place where you’d wear a suit. We spend most of our time looking at orders and checking the quality of the casts. Some days are slower than others, but there’s always something that needs moving or sorting. Being out here near Sarjapura Road means we get a lot of trucks coming in and out. It’s a practical business, really. We don’t have fancy receptionists or anything like that. Usually, you’ll find someone out back or near the loading bay. We’ve been at this for a while, and the people working here have been with us through plenty of busy seasons. We just keep our heads down and focus on the metalwork. Sometimes the dust gets everywhere, but that’s just how it is with steel. The neighborhood has grown around us, but we’re still here in the same spot near the post office. It’s a straightforward way to make a living, and we’re used to the long hours and the heavy lifting that comes with the territory. It is just honest work done by regular people.
