Chaitra Wood Works

Chaitra Wood Works is located in the Muniyappa Building, specifically at Krishna Kunj in New Guddadahalli. We are right near Ravi Clinic, so people often use that as a landmark to find us. The shop is usually full of the smell of sawdust and cut timber. We have various machines and tools spread out across the floor. It’s a noisy place when the saws are running. We spend our days measuring, cutting, and joining wood. It’s physical work and your hands get rough after a while. The building we are in is an older one, and we’ve been here long enough that the walls are covered in pencil marks and measurements. Sometimes we have big slabs of wood leaning against the entrance. We aren't a big factory; it's more of a traditional workshop setup. Rain can be a bit of a problem because we have to make sure nothing gets damp. We don't have a showroom with finished furniture on display. Most of what we do is custom work that people ask for. We talk to the folks from the clinic next door and the neighbors around New Guddadahalli. It’s a busy spot. We just focus on the wood and the tools. Some days the power goes out and we have to wait, but that’s just how it goes. It’s a honest day's work for us. We just keep the saws sharp and keep working until the sun goes down.
