Ceramique

Ceramique is tucked away on Serpentine Road. Kumara Park West is a quiet enough area, at least compared to the main roads. We’ve been at No.25/3 for a good bit of time. People stop by looking for ceramic stuff, and we show them what we have on the shelves. It’s not a huge showroom. It’s more of a shop where things are stacked up. We try to keep it organized, but sometimes it gets messy when new stock arrives. The street gets a little busy in the mornings. We usually have the doors open to let some air in. It’s just a few of us working here. We talk to people who come in, show them the different tiles or whatever they need. We don't do big ads. Most people find us because they live nearby or heard about us from a neighbor. It’s a simple setup. We sit at the front desk and wait for the next person to walk in. Sometimes we spend the afternoon just counting inventory or cleaning the dust off the samples. It's a steady pace. We like the neighborhood. It has a good feel to it. Not too much noise, just enough. We keep the place clean as much as we can with all the dust that ceramics bring. It's just a regular local shop. We don't have any big corporate plans. We just like selling ceramics and helping people find what they need for their homes.
