Cauvery Kalyana Mantapa

Our hall is located in Rajajinagar, right across from the old Navarang Theatre. People usually find us by looking for that landmark, which has been there forever. We’re in the 2nd Stage, D Block area. It’s a traditional kind of place where families come to hold their functions. Most of our time is spent either setting up chairs or sweeping the floor after a big event is finished. It’s a lot of physical work, moving things around and making sure the kitchen area is ready for the cooks. We don't have a big corporate office; it’s just us at the mantapa. Some mornings it’s very quiet, just the sun coming through the windows, and then by evening it’s full of noise and music. That’s just the cycle of this business. We’ve seen many families come through these doors over the years at No. 693. We try to keep things simple and not overcomplicate the process. It’s about providing a space that works for what people need. The traffic around the theatre can be a bit much, especially during showtimes, but it’s part of the neighborhood’s character. We just stay focused on the tasks at hand, whether it’s fixing a light or talking to a family about their dates. It's a steady life here in Rajajinagar, and we just keep the doors open for the next group that comes through to celebrate.
