We spend most of our time at 20 Peenya 2nd Stage on the 5th Main. It is a noisy place because of the Raj Pourava Road traffic and the machines we run all day. We do metal work here. It is not a clean office job, mostly we are covered in iron dust and grease by noon. Bhavani Nagar is where the staff comes from usually. We started this because we knew how to handle tools. Some of the machines are old but they still cut straight. People bring us drawings on scraps of paper sometimes. We just look at it and see if we can weld it or bend it to fit. It is a lot of manual labor. The ceiling fans do not do much in the summer heat here in Peenya. We have been in this spot for a while now. If you walk past the 5th Main, you can probably hear the grinding sounds from our shutters. It is just a regular workshop where we try to get the orders done on time. Sometimes a truck blocks the entrance for half the morning. We just work around it. There are about five of us who handle the heavy lifting. We do not have a fancy reception or anything like that. Just some benches and the smell of hot metal. It is what it is. We stay busy enough to keep the lights on and the guys paid every month.
