We are tucked away in the Janajeeva Residency over in Suddhagunte Palaya. It’s a bit of a quiet area compared to the main roads of Bangalore. Most people just call it C. V. Raman Nagar. We have been working out of this space for some time now, mostly dealing with different kinds of books and those academic journals people look for. It’s not a storefront where you walk in and browse like a library. It’s more of an office where we manage all the subscriptions and orders. Sometimes the hallway is full of packages waiting for the courier. We spend a lot of time on the phone or looking at lists of titles. The weather here is usually nice but the traffic to get to this part of town can be a real pain for our visitors. We have a small team. Everyone does a bit of everything, from answering emails to packing up the journals. It gets a bit cramped when a big shipment arrives, but we manage to find space. We don't have those big neon signs or anything like that. Just a nameplate on the door and a lot of work to get through. It’s a steady pace. We know a lot of the researchers and students who need these specific things. It’s just what we do here in the residency. We try to keep things organized but sometimes papers pile up on the desks and we have to sort them out before we leave.
