Biryani Day is located in Marthahalli at 50th Cross, 3rd Block 389/2. It’s a tiny place, and if you aren't looking for it, you might walk right past. We don't have a huge dining area. There are just a few tables and chairs that don't quite match. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we haven't found the time to get to it yet. We spend most of our time hovering over the big pots in the kitchen. It’s a lot of waiting for the rice to be just right. The steam makes everything a bit damp, and it's always noisy with the sound of the exhaust fan. We aren't a big chain with a corporate office. It’s just a family-run operation. One of us handles the cooking, another takes the money, and someone else cleans up. We don't have a printed menu that looks professional; it’s mostly just what we have ready that day. Sometimes we run out of food by mid-afternoon if the crowd is bigger than usual. We don't use fancy plates or silver cutlery. Everything is meant to be quick and easy. Working at 389/2 is a lot of hard work, and the hours are long. But we have our regulars who come in every week, and that keeps us going. It’s just a normal neighborhood eatery, nothing more and nothing less. We do our best with what we have.
