Dominos

I work at the Dominos in JP Nagar, Bangalore. It’s a pretty busy spot and the kitchen is almost always moving. You can usually hear the sound of the ovens humming and the timers going off all day long. We start our mornings by getting the dough ready and chopping up all the vegetables we need. It’s a lot of physical work and by the end of the shift, your back usually hurts a bit. The traffic in JP Nagar is quite something, so our delivery drivers are always looking at their watches. When the rain starts, everything gets a bit more stressful because the floor gets slippery and the orders keep coming in. We have a small seating area where people come to eat. Most of them are students or office workers from the nearby buildings. We spend a lot of time cleaning up after the rush hours. The smell of baking bread is something you stop noticing after a few weeks of working here. Our team mostly just jokes around when things are quiet to keep the mood up. It’s not a complicated job, but you have to be fast. We deal with the same regulars who live in the apartments down the street. Sometimes an order goes wrong and we have to fix it quickly. It’s just the way it goes in a fast place like this. The day usually ends with a lot of mopping.
