Down here at Plot No 1 in Anubhav Nagar, we stay pretty busy with all the steel and cement moving in and out. Bhima Steel And Cement Corporation is right on the Nagarbhavi Main Road, so it’s easy for the trucks to find us, though parking can be a bit of a headache near the Vijaya Bank sometimes. We deal with heavy stuff all day long. Loading cement bags onto small tempos or stacking steel rods is what our mornings look like. It’s dusty work, and the sun gets really hot out on the main road, but that is the business. We started this because there was so much building going on around Moodalapalya and people needed a place to get their materials without traveling too far. Sometimes the rain slows things down since we have to be careful about keeping the cement dry under the tarps. We have a small office where we keep the books, but mostly you will find us outside or in the shed. I’ve been working with these materials for years, and you get used to the weight of it. Neighbors know us by name, and we mostly just focus on getting the orders right and out the door on time. It is not a glamorous job, just honest work with building supplies for the local area and the contractors who stop by every morning.
