Down on 7th Main Road in Mathikere Extension, you’ll find us at Jeevan Shobha, number 176. Bhavana Printers has been a part of this neighborhood for quite some time. The sound of the printing machines is like background music to us. We’ve got stacks of paper everywhere and the smell of ink is pretty much permanent. It’s not a fancy studio; it’s a working print shop. We handle all sorts of jobs, from small cards to bigger posters. Sometimes the machines act up, and we have to spend an hour fixing a paper jam, which is frustrating but just part of the job. People from around Mathikere drop by with their files, and we do our best to get them done. We don't have a receptionist or a waiting lounge with coffee. Usually, people just stand by the counter while we check their work. The lighting is a bit harsh, and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint. But we’re more worried about how the printing looks than the actual decor of the shop. My hands are usually stained with a bit of black or blue ink by the time I head home. It’s a busy little corner of the world. We just try to keep the deadlines met and the customers happy without making a big fuss about it. We just keep the presses running as best as we can every day. It's a living.
