The Peenya Industrial Area is always loud and there’s always something moving. We are right here on 7th Main in the 3rd Phase, not far from the SBM bank. If you know this part of town, you know it gets pretty congested with trucks and lorries throughout the day. Our space is full of steel. We have rods, sheets, and all sorts of heavy stuff stacked up. It’s a bit of a workout just moving things around from one side of the warehouse to the other. Most of our day is spent talking to drivers or checking through lists of what needs to go out next. The floor is concrete and stays cool even when it’s hot outside, though the dust from the road always finds its way in. We’ve been at this spot for years. You get used to the noise of the machines and the clanking of metal. It isn’t the kind of place you’d come for a quiet chat, but it’s where the work happens. We try to keep things organized, but when a big shipment comes in, things get a bit messy for a while. We just grab a tea from the stall nearby and get back to it. It’s straightforward work. Steel doesn’t change much, even if the neighborhood around us does. We just stay busy with the orders and keep the trucks moving as fast as we can.
