Bharath Steels

Down here on Mavalli Rama Rao Lane, things stay moving pretty quick. We are at number 35, right on Godown Street. If you know this area, you know how tight the streets get with all the trucks coming and going. It’s a lot of heavy lifting and moving metal around all day. Bharath Steels isn't one of those big corporate places with air conditioning. We’re usually sweating it out in the godown. The floor is concrete and scarred from years of dragging steel beams across it. Most of the guys here have been working together for years. We know the smells of the street—exhaust, rain on the hot road, and the metal itself. Sometimes the rain leaks in a bit, but we just move the stock. It’s a practical way to live. We get people coming in looking for specific cuts or just a few rods for a small project. There is always noise, either from the traffic outside or us loading up a flatbed. We don’t bother with fancy signs. People who need steel usually know where to find us on Godown Street. It’s a bit of a maze back here, but we like it. We have our tea at the same time every afternoon. It keeps us going. Dealing with steel isn't easy work, but it’s what we do. We just keep our heads down and get the orders out. That’s the way it is here.
