Bharath Furniture has been sitting right here at 1065 New Thippasandra for as long as I can remember. We are directly opposite the Ganesh Temple, which makes it really easy for people to find us. You can usually hear the bells from the temple while we are working on the pieces in the shop. We have all sorts of stuff crammed in here, from chairs to tables and cupboards. It’s a bit of a squeeze sometimes because we try to keep a good variety on the floor. The sawdust is part of the furniture, I guess you could say. We spend our days moving heavy wood around and trying to make sure everything looks decent. New Thippasandra is a busy area, so there is always a lot of foot traffic passing by our front door. Some people just stop in to look around while they are on their way to the temple. We don’t mind that at all. We aren't into high-pressure sales or anything like that. We just let the furniture speak for itself. If someone needs something for their house, they know where we are. It’s a practical business. We fix things, we sell things, and we try to make sure people leave with what they actually needed. It’s a lot of manual work and long hours, but seeing a finished piece of furniture in the shop is a good feeling at the end of the day.
