Bharat Stores

We have been at No. 194/1 on Chickpet Main Road for quite a long time now. If you have ever been to this part of town, you know how crowded and loud it gets every single day. Bharat Stores is just a small part of that busy street. My father was the one who actually started the business, and now I just try to keep things running like he did. We sell a bit of everything, and the shelves are usually pretty packed with stock. It is not the kind of place where things are perfectly organized, but we know where everything is kept. Usually, the morning starts with us sweeping the front and getting the goods displayed. We see a lot of regular people who live nearby, and also some strangers who get lost in the Chickpet lanes. The traffic outside never seems to stop, and sometimes it's hard to even hear the customers over the horns. We don't have any big slogans or anything. It is just a shop. We spend our whole day here, from early morning until we pull the shutters down late at night. Sometimes the inventory arrives late and we have to stay even longer to get it sorted. It is hard work and the space is tight, but it is our livelihood. We just hope to stay open for many more years at this same spot on the main road.
