Bel

Our place is at Plot No. 25 in Pragthi Colony. It’s right along the Sedam Road in Gulbarga. If you know this area, you know it gets very dry and dusty. We are c/o Basvanth. L. Bhavikatti. It’s a family name that people around here recognize. The building is part of a quiet colony, which is nice because we don't get all the noise from the heavy trucks on the main road. Bel is just a small operation. We have a couple of rooms that we use for everything we do. One room is for the stock and the other is where we sit and work. The furniture is a bit mismatched. Some of it we bought second-hand when we first started the business. It works just fine for us. We don't really need things to look perfect or expensive. The doors are made of heavy wood and they keep the dust out mostly. We spend a lot of time on the phone or talking to people who drop by for a chat. There is a small garden out front that Basvanth looks after in the evenings. It has some hardy plants that don't need much water to survive. We take our lunch together at the big wooden table. Usually, it's just home-cooked food we bring from our houses. We don't have a cafeteria or anything like that. We just do our business day by day and hope for the best. It’s a straightforward life. We don't have any big corporate goals. We just want to work.
