Unnati Iron Steel

We are located at No. 1712/1, which is right near St. Francis School in Amalodbhava Nagar. The school is a big landmark for us, especially when giving directions to truck drivers. Being on Begur Main Road means there is a lot of heavy traffic and noise all day. We deal with iron and steel, so the yard is always full of heavy rods, sheets, and scraps. It’s a dirty job and our hands are usually covered in rust or grease by noon. We have a small office space that is mostly just a desk and some old ledgers. We don't use much computer stuff, mostly just writing things down. The sun beats down on the yard in the summer, making the metal hot to touch. We have to be careful with the loading and unloading because things are heavy. Sometimes the students from St. Francis pass by and look in at all the big piles of steel. It’s a busy part of Begur. We’ve been here for a good while, watching the road get wider and the buildings go up around us. We just keep on with our work, moving the material from the trucks to the piles and then out again to the builders. It’s a lot of physical labor. There isn't much to the place other than metal and a bit of shade under the tin roof where we take our breaks. It's practical and honest work for everyone here.
