We’ve got this studio space in Ulsoor, at S1. It’s not the biggest place, but we’ve managed to fit everything we need inside. There’s a lot of cables everywhere, no matter how much we try to tidy them up. People come here to record or just practice their instruments. The walls have some soundproofing, though you can still hear the traffic from the street if you listen closely enough. We’ve had all sorts of musicians walk through that door, from people who are really good to those who are just starting out and hitting a lot of wrong notes. It’s a bit of a hideout for us. The air in the studio gets a little stale after a long session, so we usually have to prop the door open for a bit between bookings. We don't have a big fancy lobby or a secretary. Usually, you just call us, and we see when the room is free. The equipment is a mix of stuff we’ve gathered over the years; some of it is old, but it has a good sound. It’s a relaxed place where nobody cares if you’re wearing old t-shirts or if you haven't shaved. We just care about the music and getting the sound right. Sometimes we spend hours just trying to fix one little part of a track. It’s tedious but that’s how it goes. Ulsoor is a good spot for us because it’s central. We just keep making music.
