Bangalore Test House

Our place, Bangalore Test House, is situated at number 65 on 20th Main in Marenahalli Vijayanagar. It is a fairly quiet part of the neighborhood compared to the main roads, which makes it a decent spot for the kind of testing work we do. We have all sorts of equipment and glass jars scattered around the benches for checking different samples that come in. The building is a bit older, and you can tell by the way the doors creak sometimes. We don’t have any shiny signs or fancy reception areas because we spend most of our time looking at data or calibrating the machines. There are about six of us who work here regularly, and we usually start the day by cleaning the workspace and checking the schedule. It is a lot of manual work and paying attention to small details on the labels. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait for the generator to kick in so we can finish our tests. We usually get our coffee from a small shop around the corner where the owner knows us by name. It is not the kind of place you see in a magazine, but it is where we do our technical work every day. We keep the registers updated by hand mostly, and there is a lot of back and forth between the lab area and the small office desk at the front.
