Banashankari Steel Corporation is over at 53/8 in Kamakshi Palya. We are really close to the vegetable market, so there is always a lot of coming and going around our place. The smells and sounds of the market are just part of our daily life here. We deal with steel, so the shop is full of heavy items and industrial supplies. It is not the cleanest work, but we like it well enough. Being near the market means the roads are often blocked with carts and trucks, especially in the mornings. We have our regulars who come in from the local construction sites or other workshops nearby. The space at 53/8 isn't huge, but we make the most of it. We have stacks of metal leaning against the walls and tools scattered around where we need them. It is a practical setup for the kind of work we do. We don't spend money on fancy signs or air conditioning. We just open the shutters and get to work. Sometimes people stop by just to ask for directions because of the market, but usually, it's folks looking for specific steel pieces. We have been in Kamakshi Palya long enough to know most of the other shop owners. It is a hardworking neighborhood and we fit right in. We just keep doing what we do and try to stay out of the way of the vegetable trucks while we handle our daily steel business.
