Balaji Rice Corner

If you're looking for us, we are over in Manjunathnagar at number 125. It’s right on the 8th Cross of the 1st Main in Rajajinagar 3rd Phase. We’ve been selling rice from this corner for a long time. It’s a simple shop, nothing special to look at. We have bags of different varieties stacked up against the walls. Some days the dust from the rice makes everyone sneeze, but we’re used to it. We get our stock from different farmers and wholesalers we've known for many years. We can tell the quality just by feeling the grains in our hands. People from around the neighborhood come here because they know we won't sell them anything we wouldn't eat ourselves. We don't do home delivery with fancy apps or anything. You just come by, pick what you want, and take it home. Sometimes we have a bit of a chat about the weather or how much the price of groceries has gone up. It’s a friendly place to work. We don't have a big sign with lights, just the name painted on a wooden board. The floor is plain concrete and the lights are a bit dim, but the rice is good and the price is fair. That’s what matters to the people who shop here. We open early in the morning before most people are even awake to get the new loads in. It’s hard work, but it’s honest.
