Balaji Panel Crafts

Our workshop is at 118/80A Devanachikkanhalli, tucked away in the Ksr Layout near the Iim Post Off. It’s right off Bannerghatta Road, which is always a mess of traffic and noise. Inside the shop, it’s a different story. It’s mostly the sound of cutting wood and the smell of glue and sawdust. Balaji Panel Crafts has been in this spot for a while now, and we’ve seen the whole area change as more people move into the layout. We do a lot of work with panels and boards, so there are always stacks of materials leaning against the walls. It’s not the cleanest place because of all the wood shavings, but that’s just how it goes when you’re making things by hand. We spend a lot of time measuring things out and making sure the edges are straight. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait around, which gives us a chance to sit outside and watch the people going to the post office. It’s a simple life, really. We don’t have a big front office or a receptionist; you just walk in and you’ll see us working in the back. The space is a bit cramped, but we know where everything is, even the small tools that always seem to go missing. We’re just local people doing our work in this corner of Bangalore day after day, keeping things moving forward as best as we can.
