Balaji Departmentals

Balaji Departmentals is located in Jayanagar 1st Main Road, right near the 80 Feet Road in Chandra Layout, at number 44/1. We’ve been running this shop for many years, and it’s become a staple for the people living nearby. It’s a general departmental store, so we carry a bit of everything, from groceries to household items. The shelves are always packed, and sometimes it can feel a little tight in the aisles, especially when we’re restocking. We don't have any of those self-checkout machines or fancy digital displays. It’s all very traditional here. We know most of our regular customers by name and often chat with them about the neighborhood news while they’re paying. Running a shop like this means long hours, starting early in the morning to receive the fresh milk and bread and staying open until late in the evening. It’s a lot of physical work, lifting heavy bags of rice and climbing ladders to reach the top shelves. The area around 80 Feet Road has gotten much busier over the years, and finding a place to park can be tough for people. We try to keep our prices fair and our stock fresh. We aren't a big supermarket chain; we’re just a local business trying to serve the community as best as we can. It’s a simple life, but we like being part of the Jayanagar neighborhood and seeing familiar faces every day.
